SP: Aligning an odd placed Texture

I wasn't sure how to write this one up, but I thought it would be useful to somebody, somewhere...Maybe?

Not all textures will be exactly centred and perfect fits for your models. You may have to move them around to get them where you want them, that is what I hope to explain right here.

I'm going to be using the simple Steam gauge model I made to show how to Add Opacity Maps.

What we're going to do is add a fill layer and use it to display our dial texture. For this, I'm going to turn off (hide) all the other parts of the model with the exception of the dial.

As you can tell by the edges, this part of the model is low-poly, and there would be no need to make it any other way. This is more of a modelling thing than a Substance Painter thing.

Here you see I've added a single fill layer to my model. As I only have a single texture for the dial I will be clicking on "Base Colour" (not the grey bar, but the actual text)

Once the resources box appears I can then navigate to the dial texture that I previously placed on the shelf (Importing new textures). I can simply type "dial" in the box (after "texture") and it should find it.

Yup, here we go. Perfect placement right?

Using the dotted box I can drag the edges using the square to align, re-size my texture to fit my model.

And that's how you align a texture that doesn't quite hit the mark.
