Wings 3D

Wings 3D is a very powerful, but underrated free 3D modelling program that is seriously underestimated by many modellers. 

The program itself is under constant development by its creators (Björn Gustavsson (bjorng) and Dan Gudmundsson (dgud)), with bug fixes addressed by Micheus Vieira.

As I type this, Wings isn't able to create animation, but never say never.

If you want to start modelling but always found Maya, Blender, 3DS Max to be a little scary, (or expensive) Wings is for you.

It's extremely easy to use, very user-friendly, and with a little effort, you can create stunning game-ready models.

Another great tool by Micheus Vierira. Allows you to make easily threaded objects.

There are more to be found here; Plugin Index, but most have been surpassed/ included into/ by the official Wings3D software.

Wings3D Maya UI Colour Set

This is the way I like to set up my windows and colours when using Wings3D - I've left the camera settings at Wings default, but if you want to change them to Maya also then you can find that option in your preferences.

Sets up Wings to use the Maya UI colour set. 

Place in your User/"user name"/AppData/Roaming/Wings3D/ folder and load as preferences subset from the file menu to use.
